When you think of housing, you probably automatically think of buying a home or renting an apartment for a year or more. However, there are some situations that you might find yourself in where you can’t buy a home, or you don’t need an apartment for an entire year. Those times are where short term housing can be helpful. Here are some situations where you might find yourself needing to find a home for a short period of time.

Your New Home Isn’t Ready

When you place your home up for sale, you never really know when it’s going to sell. If you have sold your home quicker than you anticipated and you haven’t finished closing on your new home, you’ll need somewhere to go. Luckily, you can move into short term housing until your new home is ready. You can sign leases for a few weeks or months, depending on what company you go with.

A benefit of using short term housing when you’re in-between homes is that you don’t have to worry about moving all of your things into the rental space because they’re usually furnished. That means that you can bring the necessities and leave the rest in storage.

You Go on an Extended Vacation

Sometimes you want to go on an extended vacation, but you don’t want to pay the price of a hotel for a month. When that’s the case, look into short term rentals. You could even find that staying in a rental for a month is often cheaper than a hotel is for a week’s stay. Plus, you have more comforts when you live in a fully furnished rental instead of a hotel. You’ll have more space to spread out and invite guests over, and cooking good meals will be much easier than if you were in a hotel.
