As you approach your home you notice a driveway full of cracks and broken cement. It is time for a driveway renovation. There are many materials you can choose from that have their advantages and disadvantages. When repaving your driveway here are three questions to ask yourself.

1. What is Your Budget?

Many things will determine your budget like the materials, drainage needed and dimensions. Gravel and asphalt are a more budget-friendly option where stone or concrete pavers Baltimore MD look fancy but can be more expensive. Decide if you will be paying for this makeover through a small loan or savings. Where the money is coming from and how much is available will be the biggest determining factor in what you can do.

2. What Upkeep is Required?

You may want to put in your driveway and never think of it again or you may not mind a little extra work for an upscale look. Gravel may be the easiest in regards to upkeep, but eventually, the rocks erode and disperse. Asphalt can go years without needing to be touched, but over time may need to be filled in.

3. What Will Match Your Curb Appeal?

Sometimes the option that is nice for your wallet isn’t always the nicest to your eyes. You want a driveway that will look cohesive with the rest of your curb appeal. The last thing you want is to be the eyesore of the neighborhood. If a gravel driveway is the norm in your area then that is great to put one in, but you can’t just choose based on price. Decide what look you like best and go from there.
